OUR MISSION: ENDING MASS INCARCERATION

Just Impact runs the Just Impact Fund, a multi-donor intermediary fund. Donors who contribute to this fund can be confident that their money is being spent well to reduce suffering and improve lives, without having to hire up a full program team on the issue.

We spend the money towards a strategy, which we can explain and defend, informed by our expertise and relationships, and backed up by our excellent track record. We have accepted contributions ranging from $5000 to $15+ million. In addition to running the fund, we counsel donors on strategy, acquire and share information about groups, produce regular memos with in-depth analysis on the field, and generally try to support donors in knowing what, where, and why to fund.

THE PROBLEM

Mass incarceration in America is a social and economic disaster.

Millions of people cycle through jails and prisons each year, and come out worse. 1 in 2 Americans has an immediate family member who’s been incarcerated. This traumatic cycle does not make communities safer and fuels deepening poverty.
